Since 2005, Explorandes Ecuador participates in Community Service Programs. We receive students groups (8 – 20 participants per group) from ages 13 – 19, twice a year, who have committed to work and help improve the quality of life for the people in poor Ecuadorian communities. This experience provides young adults with an incredible intellectual, physical and emotional growth besides an enrichment in environmental awareness, cultural knowledge, language skills and community service. As a result, the young adults who participate in these programs become knowledgeable, self-confident and responsible outdoor travelers.
Students will work paving schools courtyards, building fences, walls, painting, cleaning, remodeling, fixing minor plumbing problems, etc., as well as participating in a class and even teaching.
